Position Summary
The team is responsible for the design and support of Telecommunications Services necessary to sustain infrastructure and business applications. These services encompass, but are not limited to, cellular modem technology and communications. The position involves integrating applications to facilitate usage, maintenance, support, and monitoring of cellular modem devices. The individual in this role will assist the Product Line Manager with solution design, installation, and testing of modems and backend integrated device management systems. Additionally, the position will collaborate with project teams, distributors involved in the support and maintenance of cellular modem technology, as well as business partners requesting the technology.
Responsibilities
Evaluation, acquisition, design, installation, testing, upgrading components, operational support, and performance monitoring.
Technical skills, planning, organizing, work estimation, accurate technical documentation, and completing routine projects with minimal oversight.
Technical proficiency and application of network concepts.
Effective communication and positive working relationships.
Professional representation of the company.
Continuous self-development to stay updated on industry knowledge and emergent technologies.
Required/Basic Qualifications
Associates degree
2 years related work experience
In lieu of Associates degree(s) AND 2 year(s) related work experience listed above, High School/GED AND 5 year(s) related work experience
Desired Qualifications
Bachelors degree
In addition to desired degree, 2 years related work experience
Familiarity with computer networking and telecommunications.
Experience with hardware device configuration according to standards.
Experience with firmware upgrades.
Proficiency in Visio and Microsoft-based applications.
Working Conditions
Hybrid Mobility Classification – Work will be performed from both remote and onsite locations after the onboarding period. However, hybrid employees should live within a reasonable daily commute to a Duke Energy facility.
